Moving to the country from our beloved 1927 bungalow located in the heart of Auburn, we found a retired couple's farm project and fell in love immediately.
We made plans to make the property our own. Our kennel name, Golden Road, became Golden Road Farm.
Familiar with the organic movement, we were delighted to find that the property had always been organically farmed. The location, close in to Auburn, was perfect for marketing our produce.
Future plans include planting wine grapes. Our region is gaining renown as having the same climate as the Rhone region in France, and the same varieties of grapes grown there are being successfully grown here in the Mount Vernon Wine District.
We have installed a training arena for Christine’s dog sports. Andy (Hum’nbird Valparaiso CDX, CGC, HT) is busy training for his Utility obedience degree.
Ruby (Greenforests Dotti West, CGC) has retired from motherhood and will be getting back into agility training. Our home-bred girl Pearl (Golden Road’s Love of Pearls) has major points and we hope she will
finish her breed Championship this year and go on to take Ruby’s place in the whelping box.
